McGowen Chemical Company was founded by Charles Hugh McGowen, Jr. in 1960 in downtown Hattiesburg, MS. Initially, McGowen Chemical specialized in servicing oil fields and the logging industries with industrial strength chemical cleaning products, establishing a reputation for quality and reliability in Mississippi's industrial sector.
Second Generation Leadership
In 1979, his son Charles Hugh McGowen, III (Hugh) started helping his father in the business, learning the trade and building relationships with customers. Hugh took over ownership in November of 1989 after the business moved to West Hattiesburg, bringing fresh ideas while maintaining the company's commitment to excellence.
Growth and Expansion
In 1999, Hugh moved the company to a larger facility in Moselle, MS, where McGowen Chemical currently operates. This move allowed for expanded inventory, better customer service, and room for growth in new product lines.

Throughout the years, high quality service and competitive prices have always been the primary goals of our family-owned company. In recent years, we've expanded to include sales, service, and rental of pressure washers and other industrial cleaning equipment, along with in-house production of floor sweep and industrial steam cleaners.
